Sarah is an adult autistic person who received their diagnosis over a decade ago.  They began the Realistic Autistic blog to share their journey and life as they learned about autism and lived with it.  Scores of books, hundreds of research articles, and dozens of online articles later, there is still more to learn about autism, neurodiversity, and the broadness of the spectrum.

The Realistic Autistic is built on the hope of bridging the divides between the general public, neurodiverse people, our families, and our medical professionals.  Our shared humanity gives us commonalities.  Those commonalities can become connections, and with those can come understanding, acceptance, and a better world for all of us.

Remember: Presume competence.  Extend grace.  Behavior is communication.  Nothing about us without us.
